Ideation sketching (111 min.) -- Painting concepts (140 min.) v. 1. v. 2.
In vol.1, Cecil Kim introduces rapid techniques to produce design options using traditional drawing tools such as markers, ink pens, and mechanical pencil. The viewer is guided through more than eight environment production sketches. In vol. 2, Kim follows through on the sketches created in volume 1 and paints them digitally using Adobe Photoshop. He then demonstrates how he preserves the line drawings while separating the values and colors in multiple layers, enabling him to easily present concepts for a production team review. Throughout both DVDs, Cecil discusses not only the technical and artistic process he uses to create his environment concepts, but also what makes these techniques and processes so successful in a production environment.
Minimum computer system requirements: 1GHZ processor, 512 MB RAM, 64 MB video RAM, DVD-ROM drive, 5 GB hard disk space, 1280 x 1024 display.
