Media Occupations and Professions sees media occupations in terms of a steep hierarchy. At the top are three categories of individuals : own-and-operate moguls, managing barons, and performing stars. At the middle and lower levels many groupings try to pursue professionalizing and craft strategies. This book's main focus is on journalism, television, and Hollywood. While American and British pieces predominate, there are also selections which cover Africa, Australia, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, and Russia. - Back cover.
