Summary: Drugs, alcohol and mental health has been updated to accommodate the recent changes in the social biology syllabuses. It is concerned with the biochemical, behavioural and social factors which influence the mind. The text deals with all the major groups of drugs which are commonly misused. These include drugs normally available only on prescription, hallucinogeni drugs, narcotics, and socially acceptable drugs such as caffeine, nicotine and alcohol.
