Summary: The object of this basic text is to describe Industrial Relations in the Malaysian context from the perspective of the laws which govern it (like the Employment Act 1955 and the Industrial Relations Act 1967) and the cases which complement these laws (both Industrial Court awards and law court decisions). And to do so as concisely as possible, even if as a consequence comprehensiveness is somewhat compromised. The usefulness of this book lies principally in the way in which the content is organised and presented. By structuring the text in a rational and sensible way, and by allowing the laws and the cases to speak for themselves, the author makes Industrial Relations here not only real but alive to anyone, whether student or professional, who has an interest in the subject. - Back cover.
