"The IBA maps were produced by RESGIS". This document provides a guide on how and where priority for conservation actions in Malaysia can be placed, and why. MNS has identified 55 IBAs for Malaysia, covering an approximate area of 50, 944km2; 18 in Peninsular Malaysia, 14 in Sabah and 22 in Sarawak. This Directory builds, expands on and also supports several key national policies, namely the National Physical Plan (NPP), a statutory document which is Malaysia's first national blueprint for spatial planning, and the National Policy on Biological Diversity.
