There are various environmental issues that have been addressed; greening in the Malaysian hotel industry especially at the Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur where it is rarely investigated. A number of environmental guidelines have been developed by various tourism organizations such as the International Hotel and Restaurant Association, the American Hotel and lodging Association. Moreover, the hotels are also preparing their own training and action plans in environmental protection. The concept of a green hotel is not easily grasped by many small, medium or luxury hotels. Moreover, the reasons behind the adoption of sustainable practices remain largely unexplored.
