Instruction in partnering for ballet dancers. After a demonstration of stretching and strengthening exercises to prepare both men and women for partnering, Patricia Dickinson and Densil Adams explain and demonstrate various partnering movements, beginning with the basics and proceeding to more advanced steps. Both men's and women's positions and movements are described, correct and incorrect forms are demonstrated, and helpful tips are given. Included are supported balances, promenades, turns, lifts, the fish dive, the shoulder sit, jetés, and pressages. In a brief ballet excerpt, two women partner each other.
